WAUSAU, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – Rules and shocking stats involving farm equipment when they hit the pavement.
April showers bring May flowers and they also spring tractors back to sharing our roads. Planting season is about to begin, so the Wisconsin DOT is reminding us to keep an eye out for tractors.
Driver needs to remember to share the road, slow down and give them space.
Almost 400 crashes happened in the state just last year involving farm vehicles, and over 2,000 in the past five years.
It’s not just the drivers, there are rules that farmers should follow as well. Including following marking and lighting requirements, staying as far to the right of the road as possible, and knowing the road’s weight restrictions.
So before you blast down a Wisconsin county road, keep your eyes peeled around every corner.
