Louis P. Schwartz, age 91 of Park Falls, WI passed away Wednesday, Mar 9, 2016 at Park Place in Park Falls. Louis was born July 27, 1924 in Green Bay, WI the son of August M. and Rose (Leidel) Schwartz.
He alternated between Green Bay, WI and Detroit, MI and graduated in 1942 from Saint Vincent High School in Detroit. Louis was a U.S. Marine serving in both WWII during the battle for Guadacanel and the Korean War, being discharged as a Corps Staff Sergeant. On Aug 27, 1949 he was united in marriage to Catherine A. Kundinger in Park Falls, WI. He worked at the U.S. Post Office in Green Bay, retiring in 1986. He loved to put together model airplanes, collected stamps and rebuild auto engines as a hobby. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Catherine of Park Falls; children: Michael (Wendy) of Appleton, WI, Patrick of Park Falls, WI, Dennis (Sue Radke) of Suamico, WI, Tom of Hubertus, WI, Mary (Joe) Johanik of Bayfield, WI, Peggy (Steve) Loritz of Green Bay, WI, Bob (Chris) of Pensaukee, WI, Shelly (Tom) Wery of Newton, WI and Joan (Ivory) Ross of Cottage Grove, WI; grandchildren: Bethany, Joe, Kim, Anna, Kate, Isaac, Claire, Ben, Holly, Charlie and Charleston; sister: Katherine Meneratti of Green Bay, WI; in-laws: Lorraine Taft, Charles Kundinger, Jim (Ila) Kundinger, Lucy (James) Nissan and Phillip Nessman all of Park Falls, WI. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leo and Bernard and an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Mar 12, 2016 in Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Park falls with Father Shaji Pazhukkathara as celebrant.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Church in Park Falls and continue until the hour of service.
Interment will take place in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, WI. with Military Honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion Post #182 and VFW Post #6903.
