(Veteran) Harold John Christian, age 92, of Butternut, joined his wife in Heaven on Friday March 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 15, 1927 in Butternut, the son of John and Adele (Scherwinski) Christian. His early life and schooling were in Butternut. Harold was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. On September 9, 1950 he married Alice Rose Zimmerman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut. Harold was a farmer, logger, and retired from the Flambeau Paper Mill in Park Falls. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Butternut American Legion Post. He was a drummer in a polka band for many years, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice in 2019, his daughter Pamela Sue, his infant grandson Jeremy, his great-grandson James, his brother Ronald Christian and sister Dorothy Thoms.
Burial with a graveside service and military honors will be announced in the spring at Butternut Union Cemetery.
